Five Minute Friday – Worship

5-minute-friday-1

Linking up with Lisa Jo again this week to participate in Five Minute Friday.

Today’s word is WORSHIP– ready, set go –

Music has always been in my soul – the one way that I connect best to God.

Singing in my car, music cranked up and praising God for all He has done in our lives.

When everything around me was falling apart and I felt like God wasn’t there – I sang anyways because it was all I knew how to do.

When I lost my best friend and wanted to honor her….singing was way that I best knew how to do that.

But singing, music isn’t the only way we can worship. My son Gabriel who is 9 just doesn’t sing. AT.ALL.

But man can that boy pray!  He learned the ACTS prayer and he has such spirit when he gets into it…eyes closed, worshipping God.

One day I asked him why he didn’t sing in church on Sundays. He told me that singing wasn’t the way that he was going to talk to God – prayer was.

Very well then! 😉

But he reminded me that worship is a unique experience for each of us and I am just so grateful that he has found a way to connect with God too – even if it isn’t the way that I do!

What form of worship best connects you to God??

Wow, what a clever little boy! I guess that is intrinsic in us, knowing the best way we honor and praise God. Thanks for sharing over at Lisa Jo’s! Have a blessed Friday!

We learn so much about worship from our kiddos, don’t we? This is a beautiful reminder that He hears all forms of it…because true worship comes from our hearts. Love it, friend. 🙂 Happy Friday!

I’m not sure if this is a form or style of worship, but reading! I feel so free to worship after reading either God’s word or reading an inspirational book. It sparks songs in my heart!

Don’t you just love the lessons God teaches us through our children. There is a connection there that is not matched by any other for me.

I’m so happy to be participating in FMF again and equally as happy to have bumped into you here and in the (in)courager groups! I love new friends! 🙂

Isn’t if funny the different ways we all worship? I love music too and it’s my favorite way to worship. When I can’t think of what to pray there is always a song, the right song, that seems to pop in my head.

Your son’s comment made me smile! I love how we all do our own part, and God is lifted up like the reflection of a glass mosaic!

Oh my goodness – what wisdom that little one of yours has already! I love that!

I tend to combine the two – prayer and singing/worship… sometimes it is really in the in between though that I sense Holiness hovering close!

I’m a combination girl. Prayer and singing. It is the way I can get lost in God’s presence and not worry about those around me. It because date night with me and God. Wonderful post!
